Protect P1 Black Roof Coating 20kg (4 × 5kg Tins)
This pack contains four separate 5kg tins of Protect P1 Black Roof Coating, giving you 20kg for larger roof maintenance and repair jobs. The high-build, solvent-based acrylic coating contains reinforcing fibres that help bridge small gaps and cracks. Applied evenly, it forms a continuous waterproof barrier and is water resistant immediately after application.
Suitable surfaces
The product label lists flat and pitched roofs, weathered asphalt, bituminous surfaces, gutters, concrete, brickwork, fibreglass, felt, and galvanised or ferrous metal. Check that the coating is suitable for the condition and construction of your roof before use.
Coverage and drying
Apply at approximately 1–2kg per m², depending on surface condition and porosity. The four tins together cover an estimated 10–20m². Rough or porous surfaces may require more product.
Protect P1 is touch dry in 3–4 hours and reaches full cure in 6–7 days. Apply at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C.
How to apply
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from loose debris, moss, lichen, dirt, grease and standing water. Stir the coating thoroughly before and during use. Apply generously with a brush, roller or squeegee at the recommended rate, working evenly to achieve a continuous coating. The label states that most roofing substrates do not require a primer.
Safety: Protect P1 is flammable. Keep away from ignition sources, provide good ventilation and wear suitable protective gloves, eyewear and clothing. Do not use near fishponds or allow the coating to enter drains. Read the full product label before use.
