Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint is the ultimate choice when decorating your home's interior, offering floors a vibrant colour that can transform the appearance of your home. Preparation

When applying this product to concrete or stone floors, you must inspect the surface; if it's new, it should be left for at least a month before painting. After the month has passed, use a wire brush to remove any dust from the surface.

Seal the surface with a stabilising solution to prevent any cracks or blisters. If the surface has had paint on it previously, you should wire brush the floor, slightly rubbing it and then wipe it down using white spirit; this will optimise it for the floor paint.

If the floor is wooden, you should sand it down lightly using 120 grit sandpaper, let the dust settle and use a Hoover to pick it all up, using white spirit and cloth to clean the surface afterwards. Any imperfections in the wood or unsightly knots you want to hide should be treated at this stage before starting the application.

Application

1. When you open the tin, thoroughly stir the paint to ensure all the pigment is mixed.
2. Using either a brush or roller, working from the furthest corner of the door, apply to the floor, ensuring not to overlap the paint, and if it's a wooden surface, apply in the direction of the wood grain.
3. Wait up to six hours for the first coat to dry.
4. Afterwards, apply the second coat, wait up to six hours for it to dry, then apply a third coat.
5. Allow another six hours for the floor to dry before walking over it and putting furniture. Note that the diamond-hard protection won't activate until 72 hours have passed. Take care when moving in the room for a few days.

Aftercare

Maintaining the floor quality is essential, and you need to regularly clean the surface to stop any contaminants from harming the floor.

You should use floor cleaning solutions instead of household cleaners and detergents. As they can ruin the finish on the floor. If you notice any surface damage over time, you can sand down the affected area and apply more floor paint onto it.
